The town of Harkány is located in Southern Hungary in the Baranya county. It lies at the foot of the Villány Mountains, 26 km south of Pécs and about 10 km from the border with Croatia.
Harkány has been officially a city since 1999. It is best known as a spa. When 160 years ago the healing effect of the water was discovered here, they put a bath with a hospital for rheumatic patients. (899-55)
